11 January 2008 (Sawf News) – Shah Rukh Khan was adjudged the Best Actor Award for his performance in Shimit Amin directed Chak De! India at the Nokia 14th Annual Star Screen Awards on Thursday, January 10, Mumbai.
In addition, Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone were named the Best Pair on screen.

Chak De! India also topped as the best film of the year from amidst a field that included Taare Zameen Par, Chak De India, Life…In a Metro, Om Shanti Om and Guru.

11 January 2008 (Sawf News) – Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par bagged six key awards at the Nokia 14th Annual Star Screen Awards on Thursday, January 10, Mumbai.
Aamir Khan shared the best director award for the film with Shimit Amin for Chak De! India. He additionally won awards as Best Supporting Actor and for Best Dialogs.
The three other awards won by Aamir’s film were – Best Story (Amol Gupte), Best Child Actor (Darsheel) and Best Lyricist (Prasoon Joshi).

Shah Rukh Khan was adjudged the best actor award for his performance in Chak De! India.
The best actress award went to Kareena Kapoor for her spirited performance as Geet in the Imtiaz Ali directed film Jab We Met.
AR Rahman’s musical score for Guru earned him the award for the Best Music Director.

Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone were named as the Best Pair onscreen in Om Shanti Om
Deepika was additionally adjudged the Best Newcomer (Female) beating Sonam Kapoor
More predictably Ranbir Kapoor walked away with the Best Newcomer (Male) Award.
Shah Rukh Khan performed the ‘Dard-e-Disco’ number from Om Shanti Om at the event.
Others who performed included Shahid Kapur, Katrina Kaif, Urmila Matondkar, Riteish Deshmukh and Dia Mirza.

1:He always gets the award.

no he is not wat makes think that, prove it Dolly, and by the way he dosent always gets the award, 2005 Amtibah got the best actor 2006 Hrithik Roshan and 2007 SRK, he hasnt’t gotten any awards since the past 3 or 4 years. Dolly please think before u say anything.

In the year 2008 we have seen lot of Hindi movies which broke successfully the traditional
way of filmmaking in mumbai film industry which was seeded by once legendry Guru Dutt, Satyajit ray and Bilmal roy. However since two or three years there was lot
of such films has come but they are all of you can say that transition era films such as Rang De Basanti, Khosla Ka Ghosla etc which resulted into the mature art of filmmaking. In the year 2008 films completely changed the scenario of Hindi film industry.
Now at last filmmakers accepted that screenplay and story line most important part of filmmaking, ignoring it means the film couldn’t be perfect despite publicity and star cast.
Secondly viewers and some filmmakers define the tag very concretely “Actors can be stars but it is not necessary that stars can act too”
When I think about the scenario of different film awards ceremonies in India related to bollywood last 8 to 10 years, I found that mostly award could not justice with the category for which they are given. Most of all that awards had influence of the film’s performance and also its star cast , which is absolutely wrong when deciding award for any particular category.
Any movie considering for a category only should be analyzed considering the point of view of that category, for example if you considering a actor for best lead actor category then the actor’s performance only be the parameter not the films performance at box office nor the mega star is there or not and not its other pros and cons .For example if u seen the Oscar for 2007 Best actor it went to Forest Whitaker for Last King of Scotland, which is not block buster movie. If you seen Oscars, Golden Globes or any reputed film festival around world you can find that award given for category have no any influence of the films performance at box office or its star cast .Unfortunately in India such thinking did not work into many prestigious award functions such as filmfair,star screen award at list except last 2 years.
