Agreed. Saw the same news on Aaj Tak and CNN IBN. by 4th week it will have collected 100 crores. By end of 2 weeks it has already collected 65 crores, Lets wait and watch. It has to cross 106 crores (Hum Aapke Hain Kaun). For this it has to run till 8 weeks.

The movie has grossed nearly 75 crores in three weeks and may cross 100 in a few more weeks.But the fact is that the movie has run only three weeks and now the cinema halls are totally empty.So the movie did not run well.So basically it is a flop.

still sme people like gaurav cant belive the movie is a blockbustor…. they still want to prove that it is a flop. take brake gaurav…. dont be so jaolus… the movie is still running good everywhere…. and if its not running good then prove it kyunki adalat sabut mangti hai beta gaurav……………

Zara ek cinema hall ke naam batana jahaan movie do hapte Housefull chala hai. Pahele saach se saamna karna sikho uske baad comment karo .Main sab information internet se hi bol raha hoon.
Aur I am fan of SRK no point of being jealous.And do you know OSO has made a record?
It is the first Blockbuster running for minimum number of days.
(Haan hall mein agar paach aadmi rahe to use housefull nehi kahete ).

Guys..no fights. OSO will end up with figures around 96 crores. Keeping inflation into our calculations, the biggest grosser in hindi cinema till date is still ‘Sholay(157 crores)’ followed by HAHK (107) ..and now OSO (approx 96) followed by Gadar (95) and DDLJ(94). Dhoom-II comes much later to be around 85 crores.
And..yes. gone are the days when movies used to run for 100 days.. Market have changed. People have become more dynamic and cinema halls access is easier.
Producers releases huge prints of movies for first 5 weeks itself to counter Piracy.
Hence the status (blockbuster, superhit, hit, flop) is decided in the first 5-6 weeks. Now you might want to ask HOW I know all this. Its simple… my brother is the owner of one of the multiplexes in Hyderabad.

With inflation?
Good comedy.
Obviously inflation for OSO will be same as the cost .
Yah if a movie runs for six weeks with not even half filled then I do not know how it is a blockbuster.

The biggest hit ever is SHOLAY. How can a lousy film like OSO become the biggest hit of all-time. What utter rubbish!!
Go and get inflation adjusted figures and you will see that NO FILM will ever come close to SHOLAY. I was reading an article on a different website where someone mentioned the following.
In 1975 when sholay was released ticket prices were 2 rupees going upto 10 rupees. Yet the film netted 15 crores in its first run. In todays cinema the average ticket price that was availalbe for 10 rupees will be over 200 rupees at a multiplex. That is 20 times more than in 1975!
The correct figure for Sholay inflation adjusted you have to multiply 15crores by 20.
The figure is mind-boggling 300 crores!!!
Thats just on its first run. Repeat runs the figure is close to over 400crores.!
No film in the history of indian cinema will ever come close to these figures,

But Rahul it cannot be compared like that.In those days there were no internet ,no video piracy.You have to include these factors also.There is a lot more to mention

With this ticket pricing if we go with Mother India. The ticket price in 1957 was way below Rs 1. And now ticket price is 200. So it means it is 200 to 400 times high.
The movie Mother India collected 3.5 Cr. If we multiply it by average 300. It is 1150 Cr.
So biggest hit ever of Indian Cinema would be MOTHER INDIA not Sholay. There are many movies of Dilip Kumar like this which can beat sholay like Mughle-Azam etc

Gaurab..u are harping on the same lousy logic again and again. R u watching movies in all cinema halls of india at the same time..You probably are talking about ur city. In south India (not SRK terretory), OSO is still full house. Just visit http://www.prasadz.com and try to book internet ticket. You will see the reality buddy. Anyways…going by ur logic of ‘no piracy’ , ‘no internet’… films like oso, gadar, dhoom II, Hahk, ddlj are bigger grosser than sholay. Just go and start collecting the amount earned by the VCD’s, dvd’s of these new moviues…they might just cross sholay.anyways…if i go as per ur logic of empty halls does not warranty blockbuster status…than all akshay fims, all ajay devgan films, all saif ali films are flops. i watched welcome on sunday(3rd day of release)( and the cinema hall was 1/4 empty.

I am talking about South India .In all halls the movie are running like five persons per hall.As for no piracy and internet I was talking in favour of OM Shanti OM(I think you misunderstood).And as for films of Akshay Kumar I do not know about other movies but at least for Bhool Bhulaiyaa ran better in percentage of housefilling than OSO.While for just an example Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ran housefull week after week and OSO is not even a 1000 miles near.
And for your information I stay in Bangalore and I visit Mumbai and Calcutta every month.I do not know what this site is http://www.prasadz.com but I beleive what I see with my eyes and in my eyes OSO is no longer running in Bangalore.
And if you want to tell that it is not running in Bangalore but running housefull in Chennai than I should say you are dreaming.
Please name me one or two halls if you can . I will go and see by myself.
I am not against OSO but if that means modifying the truth then sorry friends I am no such chap.

Highest grosser does not mean its the biggest hit. Even in case of Mother India and Sholay if Mother India’s inflation adjusted earnings are higher than Sholay it does not mean that Mother is a biggher hit. You have to look at territiries. What is the return per territory ? Also per Boxofficeindia.com, even inflation adjusted Sholay beats Mother India hollow. Anywat bottomline is that OSO despite its earnings is not an “all time blockbuster” – Its not even amongst the 14 greatest hits in hindi films. OSOS is a blockbuster like Lage raho and Welcome. To get to All time blockbuster status looks tough for OSO.

because he is a real super star.he is a highest paid up actor in india. he got near about

according to times group srk is the most poular actor worldwide; earlier it was tom cruise.and this report is of 2002.six years down the line his popularity graph has only increased. so he is the real king.
he is not greedy and never quotes any amount to the film makers . that is why he is not the costliest.
but he is the biggest tax payer of india.mind that.
he is the biggest super model of india.see his earnings.
out of 10 all time hits overseas , 7 are srk films.
